SR 162 Corridor Study

Project Information

Project Information

In July 2014, the City of Oroville and Butte County Association of Governments (BCAG) were awarded a Caltrans Transportation Planning Grant for the purpose of preparing a complete streets corridor plan for the section of SR 162 extending from Highway 70 to Foothill Blvd. This section of SR 162 faces increasing issues of congestion and safety.  Project consultant, Traffic Works, has assisted the City of Oroville with developing the plan which focuses on creating a roadway that is planned, designed, operated, and maintained to provide safe mobility for all users, including bicyclists, pedestrians, transit vehicles, truckers and motorists.  BCAG has worked with city staff to provide project oversight.

A draft plan was released for public comment and review in April and a final public workshop was held in early May 2016.  Following the incorporation of public comments received in May, a final plan has been released and is available for viewing by clicking the link below.
